Musei Capitolini - Esedra del Marco Aurelio

Virgil’s Aeneid told and read by Vittorio Sermonti staged at the Capitol Museums from September 18th until October 19th. Aeneas returns to the place where one night, three thousand years ago, the guest of a poor king, he fell asleep, exhausted, on a sack filled with leaves.
The author and scholar Sermonti outlines the narrative arc of the Aeneid with a synthesis of poetic figures and historical emotions.

MACRO joins in the Notte Bianca 2007 with the project entitled “History’s visionary aspects”.

An original presentation on the importance of the female figure in epic poetry.

This event will consist in a dialogue between the sculptor Pietro Canonica’s Museum/Hoe and a number of contemporary artists coming from different creative environments (the worlds of music, the theatre and that of visual arts) who are provided with an opportunity to implement the idea of a museum as a historical location, moving with different aesthetics and techniques the intimate and lived-in interiors of Pietro Canonica’s museum/home also to the exterior.
